Not lakeside

Liked:Beds were comfy and kitchenette was well stocked. Room was clean and a good size. The outdoor area was nice enough but I wish we had been told about the fire ring on check in. We didn't discover it til the last day and it would have added a lot to our stay to have a campfire at night.

Disliked:No lake access and no view from the room. Calling it lakeside is definitely a stretch and feels misleading. There was construction material all around the property and in front of our room. There was garbage left out by a guest or staff and animals got to it and it was strewn all around the property and left for a full day. We had to drive to breakfast (not indicated on the booking and the hotel sign says restaurant) and while it was nice to have the option of a hot, plated breakfast, the food left a lot to be desired and we would have preferred a typical continental buffet. We only went the first day and chose to eat at the hotel across the street for the rest of the stay. . Generally, it seems like new ownership is getting settled and the room itself was nice but it was overpriced for what we got.

Fine location to discover Wells Gray PP

Liked:The room was nice and the parking in front a nice bonus. Good location to discover Wells Gray Provincial Park. We had a surprising visit of a black bear. Nice to start the day.

Disliked:The breakfast was at the golf ,which was a 10 min drive away. The first day the breakfast was very poor. We couldn't even get orange juice. The second day it was a little bit better. But even than we had to wait quite a long time being served.

Liked:Very clean and comfy rooms Good view of the lake. Some had more facilities than others e.g. full cooking facility.

Disliked:It was a motel rather than a hotel. You have to drive 9 mins to a golf club for breakfast.
