Nice hotel in a great town that's a much more peaceful place than the frenetic Banff

Liked:My daughter and I rented a two bedroom suite at the Rundle Mountain Lodge for 4 nights. We couldn't find anywhere in the more expensive and very popular Banff but Canmore was recommended as a good alternative resort close enough to the attractions of the region. Registering and getting in to our rooms was easy and we were settled in quickly. we had a lot of things already booked so didn't spend a lot of times in the rooms other than to sleep, but there was a small area with a fridge etc to store and prepare food. The hotel is showing its age a bit, so some of the facilitates in the room are starting to look a little shabby. Everything was good however, apart from some road noise at night. Canmore itself is great: a much less crowded town than Banff with a lot going on. Some great shops, restaurants and cafes. Both my daughter and I would have liked to spend more time exploring the town and the area and the many trails immediately around it. It's also very recognisable as Canmore is used in a lot of TV and movies. The high street and old railway bridge are familiar to watchers of The Last Of Us - (Canmore is 'Jackson, Wyoming' in the first and second series). It was also a location for Brokeback Mountain. Canmore is also really convenient for trips to lake Louise and Moraine Lake. We were picked up for a sunrise trip to Moraine and Louise just by our hotel at 3:30AM for an unbelievable opportunity to see the sun rise in a cloudless sky. Amazing. Oh, and Grizzlies....

Disliked:Matresses,bed a d bedding is old not comfortable at all. Cleanliness is issue .there is bad smell. Ac is not enough

I would recommend this facility.

Liked:Fireplace , bed, jacusi, friendly staff, water pressure.

Disliked:The room was facing the main highway and was noisy. Parking was not assigned, but it wasn't a real problem. The jacusi worked well but was also noisy.
