Disappointing

Liked:It’s a beautiful hotel. The views are gorgeous. The location is perfect. The hotel is connected to a very popular athletic club. Guests have access to that facility but it’s incredibly crowded. It’s not a relaxing weekend by a hotel pool. We were hard pressed to find a place to sit. If you’re looking for a quiet weekend by a pool on a warm weekend, this isn’t your place.

Parking is the only reason this is not a perfect stay

Liked:Almost perfect, with one MASSIVE shortfall. I’ll start with the bad news: The parking is an absolute nightmare. I mean truly abysmal. It automated and complicated something that NEVER NEEDED TO BE AUTOMATED OR COMPLICATED. It’s parking. Just give me the ticket and let me pay when I leave. NOW, you have to go to a website, enter a bunch of personal information, and register. WHY. Worse still, their “streamlined” system DOES NOT EVEN WORK. Every single time I tried to leave the hotel, I was either stuck at the gate because it wouldn’t open or in a long line of cars trying to escape because the gate would not open. To resolve the issue, you had to call the hotel, bypass another annoying automated system (robot call response) and then when you finally get to a human you had to ask them to send somebody to open the gate. I also noticed that every single time I returned to the hotel there was a long line of cars trying to exit. They NEED to get rid of this system. It is horrible. It helps nobody. At the very least, they need to have somebody manning the EMPTY parking gate/booth. That person can trouble shoot the gate issues when the system inevitably fails. On to the good news: To be clear, our stay was absolutely incredible. The room was gorgeous, the amenities are top notch, and the staff was incredible. I want to specifically acknowledge Effie at the front desk. She is the absolute greatest. She greeted us with a smile, gave us the upmost care and dedication, and made my entire family feel at home. In a time where customer service in the hospitality industry seems to be knocking on death’s door, Effie emerged as a beacon of hope. I cannot stress enough just how incredible she is. I look forward to returning and seeing her again.

Wildly overpriced.

Liked:Booked 2 queen, got a king room. Since 2q was needed, an upgrade was required. Original room with 2q would have been too small for a family. Upgraded room was large enough for our needs.
Disliked:Tennis court flood lights are on at night, requiring fully blocking the windows. But then the fresh Californian air is also blocked, and running A/C is required. $33 for make-your-own omelette out of 2 eggs and 3 toppings is wildly overpriced, indicating that the hotel aims to squeeze as much money as possible out of its aging facilities.
