More detail to cleaning is required

Liked:Location is fine, easy to get to. The people that work there are very pleasant. My main complaint is how dirty the bathrooms are. Someone needs to scrub around the shower glass on the outside and scrub the floor. The shower lever was crooked, but I could live with that-just not the dirt. The beds are very comfortable and appear clean, but better cleaning is needed around the base of the bed. The rooms do look dated, and there is no microwave, but at least there is a fridge. The atmosphere is fine for a convention, and there is a good bar with excellent service. I had no trouble with noise, I had a conference room rate, but it was still expensive for a room with a dirty bathroom. I didn't use the indoor pool, but it looked nice. Outdoor pool is closed for the season.

Marriott Albany NY, 8 floors: No room keys, 1 elevator, and a dangerous parking lot

Liked:An overnight stay proved the maintenance is more than lacking, there is none. The hotel had a large gathering of teenagers and the front desk kindly was placing us on an upper floor away from the noise as the walls are thin and any sound can be heard. 1st, the "key reader" didn't function meaning we could not get a room key! With a line behind us waiting to check-in, the only desk clerk had to leave her station to escorting us to our room and open the door. This meant we couldn't leave our room as no key was available without a front desk escorting. We were told the situation has been going on for days. The room though "updated" some years ago clearly shows signs of paint and grout now pealing and an overall sloppy job. The 8 floor hotel only had 1 elevator working so you experienced a 10 minute + wait! The parking area apparently has not been resurfaced in years as it appears to have been used for practice in the tomahawk missile seen in Topgun Maverick! Be very careful driving into the parking lot as dangerous deep potholes are everywhere any tires are at risk Bottom line perhaps try the newer Residence inn or Courtyard just a few blocks away.
