Good location, but some serious issues to be addressed

Liked:Not much, staff were OK but seemed disorganised.

Disliked:Hotel rooms are a little tired, but were clean. My main gripe was the oppressive temperature in the room. Even with the windows wide open, the heat was oppressive, and obviously a recognised issue as there seem to be many other reviews raising this issue, and also basic free standing fans are provided. Some of the other public areas were also stifling. And, i appreciate that the car park is privately run, but £7.50 to park my car was a bit steep.

Good for a business trip

Liked:The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, the room service was good, with fair portions & options available, & the cleaners worked hard.

Disliked:There was a lot of noise coming into our room from the corridor & surrounding area (doors slamming shut, the courtyard noise echoed into the room, & we could hear the cleaners starting their shift early outside). Maybe some noise/draught excluders would help? Or asking all to keep noise to a minimum before 9am? The cleaners were very efficient with the daily clean, but I did notice that the base of the toilet hadn't been cleaned from a previous person & so this was quite off-putting. I understand the Cleaning Team has a lot to do, but maybe they could work together in pairs to briefly double check smaller details before leaving the room? At breakfast, it did feel a little bit like you were being watched, & could only have a certain amount before your plate was taken, which did make it less relaxing but I do understand that the prompt and attentive service may appeal to others. The stay was very basic overall, & I didn't feel the stay stood out to me, especially as it was for a special occassion, & would suit more someone that was staying on business I would imagine.
