Disappointing, dirty, not up to required standards

Liked:- The property provides a wide range of activities. We booked a whale watching tour through them which was excellent - The views from the property are pretty spectacular, overlooking the beach/bay and national park area

Disliked:We checked out early after 1 night because overall we did not at all feel comfortable - The property was outright dirty, we spent the first 30 minutes of our stay swatting all the flies (and again the next morning!). Whilst I fully expect a fair share of insects at such a location, I believe it reflects the lack of cleanliness. On closer inspection, we found dirt and dust just about everywhere. The bed linen was dirty with quite obvious stains. Not what I expect for the price you pay. - The quality of the interior is poor: one of the beds was unusable, springs were literally sticking out. Taps were not working and/or loose. Towels were of such low quality that it does not dry you after showering. Only 2 of the rooms have air conditioning. - Everyone should be aware that the property is located on a hill, about 5km (20+ mins) up a (sometimes quite steep) gravel/rocky road without very limited/no street lighting. I was really uncomfortable to drive up during the day, but it was much worse in the dark and with heavy rain. The road is definitely not for everyone, and if it is I would recommend you ensure your car insurance is fit for purpose. - Communication with the property annoyed me to no limits. Firstly, they over communicate from the moment you book and bombard you with messages before, during and after your stay. After we checked out and raised our concerns, the property management became quite defensive and arrogant, without taking ownership and accountability for failing to deliver the standards they claim to commit to. By far the worst of our stays in Costa Rica - only giving a 3 rating because of the views - from every other perspective a 1 would be more appropriate

Liked:The views were outstanding and pool area was lovely. Rooms were comfortable.

Disliked:Our place - no.10 was not cleaned properly from the start. The design was odd- toilet and shower cubicles - no proper bathroom in the kitchen/living area. The sink outside the two rooms was so tiny that we ahd to brush our teeth in the kitchen sink.

Liked:Great views, yard, BBQ and pool. Christian helped us book a whale tour which was successful.

Disliked:The uphill road could use more pavement, no access unless you have a 4*4.
