A quiet gem on the beach.

Liked:The chalet is in a quiet and secure area with direct access to the beach just 50m away. There's a sandy swimming beach. When we stayed, the river mouth was,closed so we could easily walk to the main village of tamarin. A car is essential (and provided!), to allow for exploration of the island as well as access to large supermarket less than 10 mins away. Anil was extremely flexible with check in timing and was extremely responsive to messages. He organised taxis for us, which was extremely helpful. If the idea of an all inclusive resort makes you think of a luxury jail, then this place is for you. It's affordable and gives you complete freedom to explore as you like in the nearly new car that is included. Of course, it is by the beach in the tropics, this means that try as he does, the conditions can take their toll. It's not new and shiny, but everything is clean and it works, if occasionally a little rustic. Let's be honest, the bathroom is small and "intimate", but we had no problem with it at all. The chalet was perfect for us, and we will definitely stay again if we return to Mauritius.

Liked:Anil was exceptionally helpful going the extra mile to ensure that snacks and drinks were stocked up in the fridge...He also took additional efforts to ensure that he helped us get through the right people for activities such as scuba diving and excursions.

Amazing week - we would 100% come back and recommend this accommodation to everyone!

Liked:From the first moment we arrived at the chalet, it felt like a home in paradise. We particularly enjoyed the mornings, drinking a coffee on the terrace from which you can see the beach and the sea. 🌊Different birds come to say Hi and add to the truly peaceful athmosphere. The chalet was very clean, had everything one needs, and was very cozy. The nights were very quiet, ensuring one gets a good night‘s sleep. The beach is not crowded, it‘s fun to observe the surfers and the sunsets were magical. Additionally, one can use the chalet‘s own kajak to paddle out in the mornings to see the dolphins that live around the area - they are not there every morning (sometimes at other beaches) but there are good chances to see them and observing boat/kajak traffic can help to spot them. The rental car was also great, very useful to drive around to different activities and restaurants in the evening (as at Tamarin Beach, there are not that many restaurants to choose from). In general, the area is fantastic to stay in because you can reach different interesting destinations within short ride times. Anil was super friendly, easy to reach via Whatsapp, had a very short response time and helped with all our questions.

Disliked:Nothing. One should be aware that the car is quite needed if one wants to explore different restaurants (there are not many in walking distance). We saw some reviews commenting on the state of the facilities (not the newest) - however, it was more than sufficient for us, everything worked and allowed a very relaxed and enjoyable stay.

Liked:The property’s location is just perfect and led to instant relaxation & Anil and his daughter are truly wonderful hosts. The hut is equipped with everything you could wish for and more and it’s just the perfect morning activity to go out with the kayak (that you can use for free) and swim with the dolphins that come to the bay every morning. Furthermore, it’s a very secure place and there plenty of restaurants close by. We would definitely stay here again.

Disliked:Did not personally bother us too much but some of parts of the property/equipment already got used quite a lot and maybe need to replaced sometime soon.
