Due to the bad experience I received a free suitcase

Liked:You'll get an authentic African experience! Takatsuki is a good location to get to Kyoto as well as to Osaka. Many trains will stop there and it is part of the (special) rapid service routes, so you don't need to take the very slow local trains to reach it, but still don't need an express / shinkansen ticket. I left after one night though I seriously planned to stay there for three weeks. I went to a nice free campsite and with the money I saved I was able to buy a nice japan-made Proteca suitcase!
Disliked:The owner almost doesn't speak any English. Communication with him relies mainly on his tablet with translator app. Since he likes to keep it active while on idle, some awkward situations may arise. So once it translated his aloud thought opinion about my parents origin (it was a racist remark). He doesn't seem to be interested in conversation (but maybe it was due to my parents origin...), since he ordered me twice to go into my room. First time was shortly after we finished check in procedures and the second time was when he kindly prepared some hot beverages in the afternoon. (I asked him, if he was preparing a tea and he said yes. But then he served me a cup of coffee. I usually don't drink coffee. I thought he would prepare himself another cup after he was finished with my one and was going to tell him about it then and offer him my cup. But none of that happened. Instead he told me to take my cup into my room. o.O Maybe that's just how Japanese people do it, Idk...) He is also very intrusive about what he believes would be good manners (even though it was useless in this case). The first time I was using the toilet, he waited (and presumably listened) outside so that he could tell me that I didn't wash my hands. I told him that there was no soap, but in the absence of his tablet he didn't understand me. Instead he acted like I was a child, went inside the bathroom only to demonstrate the function of the water tab and insisted on me washing my hands. That reminded me much of my experience in East Africa. Washing hands was very important even though there was no soap! Bad privacy: He takes a picture of the passport of each guest and prints it. He stores the prints all in one big folder and showed them to me. He had to leave earlier than checkout time and told me to check out at that time and leave the house with him.

Liked:The host, Umeno was wonderful! His home had everything you needed and was across the street from a 7/11. This was a nice cozy place that felt like a traditional Japanese home. Would stay here again.

Not the experience that I was hoping.

Liked:.....
Disliked:The bed and the pillows didn't have any sheets on them. Which made the bed and pillow itchy. The room was very hot and stuffy. There were no windows. The sealed room next to where I stayed, had an air-conditioner (my room did not have an air-conditioner. Nor did I share one). About two or three times an hour, that air-conditioner would make a very loud shaking noise which woke me up every single time. I did not get to sleep at all during my stay. By midnight, I already wanted to leave. As I knew that I was not going to get any sleep staying there. By three in the morning I couldn't stand staying there anymore, so I took all my belongings and left at three in the morning. I had to wait in the streets until five in the morning for the trains to start running again. I didn't want to stay here. I stayed in many places in Japan, this is probably the most expensive place I stayed in for a weekend stay. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this place. Also, this place only has a cash payment option at your arrival. So, no refunds through Booking.com. I don't imagine you will get a refund in the morning if you stay the entire night and have any complaints to the owner. Or maybe you will. I don't know. 3/10 stars.
