Disappointment

Liked:The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is convenient, and the staff provided good service throughout our stay. Very good breakfast was offered.

Disliked:Unfortunately, there were several aspects that did not meet our expectations. The food was acceptable, but considering the Van der Valk reputation, I expected a higher quality dining experience. We had also booked a meal arrangement that was promoted via email with a discount, but this offer was not honored during our stay. The financial aspect is not the issue for us, but it is disappointing when advertised offers are not respected. If an arrangement is promoted, guests should be able to rely on it being available. The biggest disappointment was the wellness offering. The Booking.com presentation create the impression that the hotel has its own spa and wellness facilities. In reality, the well-known Thermes de Spa wellness center is a separate facility, requires an additional fee, and is located nearby. This was not clearly communicated on the Booking.com page. The hotel itself only has a small sauna in the gym area, where swimwear is required, which is very different from what most people would consider a true wellness experience. Had this been communicated more clearly before booking, we would likely have chosen a different hotel. While the room, location, and service were good, the misleading wellness expectations and the issue with the meal arrangement left us disappointed overall.

Please note that guests wishing to dine in the restaurant have to make a reservation in advance. Please note that guests are required to show a credit card on their arrival. The details of this card must match the ones of the reservation's holder. In case of advance payment required, the credit card used to pay the deposit must be in the name of guest and presented at time of check in. Only children over 15 are allowed in the spa. Bikes are not allowed inside the hotel rooms. The hotel can provide storage for a limited number bikes on the premises The access to the thermal baths has an additional cost. It is not included in the room price and must be reserved in advance. Access is not allowed for guests under 16 years of age.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. A deposit may be required at the property.
