An incredible property with beautiful rooms and amazing value (even during high season).

Liked:This place was absolutely amazing. We came during the off season, so prices were lower, but even at the normal rate I would absolutely say it is worth it. The room was huge and felt more like an apartment, with a full kitchen, refrigerator, oven, microwave, toaster, two coffee machines, and basically everything you could need. You could literally cook a whole turkey if you wanted to. The bed was extremely comfortable, the AC worked flawlessly, and they have their own generators, so electricity is never something you have to worry about. Service was excellent almost across the board. They create a WhatsApp group for your stay, so you can simply message the team whenever you need anything and they handle it. No calling reception or walking downstairs. With the exception of one person, everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. The property itself is magnificent. There are several pools, a beautiful beach, complimentary snorkeling excursions, fresh coconuts in the mornings, and gorgeous jacuzzis with fire features in the middle. At night they look incredible, and you can even have food delivered while you're sitting in the jacuzzi. During the off season, weekdays were wonderfully quiet and at times it felt like we had parts of the resort almost to ourselves. Weekends get noticeably busier with people coming from Santiago and elsewhere, which honestly just shows that locals know how good this place is. We also ate at Aguají by Chef Tita, the fine dining restaurant at the hotel, and it was exceptional. The menu changes regularly and is a fine dining interpretation of Dominican cuisine. I've eaten at many Michelin-starred restaurants, and in my opinion this could compete at that level. It is expensive, though. Dinner for three was around $1,000, but the food was incredible. Overall, the rooms, location, service, amenities, and all the little extras make this place very special. I would highly recommend it and absolutely stay here again.

Disliked:There honestly wasn't much we disliked. Breakfast was included, which is a nice benefit, but I personally didn't think the breakfast was particularly good compared with everything else the property offers. If I stayed again, I would probably skip breakfast, enjoy the beach or one of the pools in the morning, and then have lunch at one of the restaurants instead. We also had one negative interaction with a single staff member, but that person was very much the exception. Everyone else we dealt with throughout the stay was excellent.

Good for relaxing but keep in mind the details

Liked:Sights were beautifull and was a relaxing place. Food was very good.

Disliked:Property is beat up and in my opinion, does not represent marriot standart for "luxury". There is a lack of detail managments to be called luxury experience. Sea water pool and the jacuzzi weren't clean with moldy on the teals and flooting around.

Dominican getaway in paradise

Liked:The Ocean Club provides excellence! The view of the ocean and the mountains from our suite was stunning, the grounds and pool are maintained beautifully and their staff is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
