Great location, friendly staff, very comfortable room and delicious dinner.

Liked:A wonderful location surrounded by snow-capped mountains and right on the water. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious, staff were very friendly, food was delicious. Highly recommend this hotel.

Disliked:The bar was unattended for a short time but not an issue.

A delightful hotel in an idyllic setting.

Liked:What a wonderful surprise this hotel was! The nicest place we stayed in Iceland. The outside fits the architecture of this beautiful town and the interior is wonderfully laid out. We absolutely loved the design of the room we stayed in. Every detail was excellent - and the curtains blocked the round-the-clock sun better than any other place we stayed. Lovely view of the fjord. The hot tub looked fantastic, but we didn't make time to use it. My passion is wildlife and especially birds. This was a great location to relax on the deck and see dozens of Fulmars and Arctic Terns, gulls, and also Puffins, Razorbills, and Common Murres (Guillemots) right from the deck. It was amazing. I have only one complaint from our stay - our room was above the dining area (which was no problem at all when it comes to noise), but a kitchen employee took smoke breaks beneath our balcony. The door to our balcony literally has a sign on it warning us, as guests, that there is a 50,000 ISK fine for smoking there, yet when I opened the door and went outside -- I was met with the smell of cigarette smoke from directly below. The person was just standing there smoking. I did not make a fuss - I just closed the door, but this should be something that is addressed to the staff. I'd really not have to smell that on my balcony - especially if I'm going to get a hefty fine for doing it myself!

Liked:Amazing atmosphere and a beautiful view from the room. The hot mineral bath and sauna were excellent. This was the best hotel of our trip to Iceland, and it offered great value for the price. Highly recommended!
