Good hotel.

Liked:Convenient location to explore places in and outside Sherbrooke. Free parking. Quiet room. Hot breakfast. Daily supply of bottled water and chocolate in the room. Complimentary apples at reception.

Disliked:Light around bathroom mirror is dim. Room was not dusted during our four nights' stay.

Disappointing Luxury – Only the Price is 5-Star

Disliked:We intentionally booked the OTL Gouverneur Sherbrooke as the most expensive hotel of our Canadian road trip (11 hotels in total) right in the middle of our tour to get some rest as a family. Unfortunately, our expectations for a self-proclaimed 5-star property were deeply disappointed. Only the price reflected this category; everything else did not. Our specific complaints: - Extremely cramped room: Both the room and the bathroom were the smallest on our entire tour. It was so tight that we could not even open two suitcases at the same time. Absolutely impractical for a family. - Lack of 5-star service: In a true 5-star hotel, guests do not have to hold their own doors or lug their own heavy bags up to the room. This service was simply non-existent here. - Poor attention to detail (Drinks): In almost any standard hotel, coffee and tea are available 24/7 for free. Here, only tea was complimentary, while coffee pods cost an extra $4. On top of that, they only provided 2 bottles of water for a family of 4. This lacks the basic attentiveness expected of a 5-star establishment. - Useless technology: The tablet provided in the room was completely non-functional. You couldn't control a single thing with it. Lights and AC had to be operated manually—which works exactly the same way in any standard 3-star hotel. You don't need a tablet in the room for that. - Breakfast shortcomings: The waffles at breakfast were still completely raw on the inside, despite using the correct machine settings. Conclusion: The biggest disappointment of our entire trip. If you are looking for real luxury and the service that goes with it, you should definitely spend your money elsewhere.
