Not necessarily worth the price, but a nice resort.

Liked:The room was large, our room steward was absolutely amazing, the breakfast had lots of options. The pool area was nice and the hotel was clean.

Disliked:I had one request about a birthday cake and they said they would fulfill it and then repeatedly let me down. At the beach there are employees walking around nonstop asking if we wanted a massage or hair treatment etc and it was irritating. Also, the activity staff were loud and obnoxiously walking around.

Liked:The location is great, especially being right in Soho. The resort itself is beautiful, with a nice pool, good restaurants, and plenty of facilities and activities. The room was also comfortable once we were given the second option. Our room cleaner was extremely sweet and helpful throughout our stay.

Disliked:I booked a king-size sea-view room, but unfortunately, when we arrived, the front desk informed us that the hotel was 99% booked and that the room we had booked was not available. They first showed us a room that was barely a sea-view room, very far from the main areas, and right next to construction, which was quite frustrating. I declined it, and they then showed us another room, which was much better. However, it was still around 30% sea view and 70% pool view, and had two twin beds instead of the king-size bed we requested. To be fair, the second room itself was good and comfortable, but it was still not what we had originally booked. I’m not sure why the hotel accepts bookings for rooms that are not actually available. The staff could also have been friendlier and more welcoming, although our room cleaner was absolutely lovely and very sweet.

Best Value for money

Liked:We were three families traveling together, and the biggest challenge was the cost, since not everyone could afford a high-end five-star luxury resort. In this respect, Savoy was probably the best compromise for our group. It sits at the more affordable end of the five-star category, which made it possible for everyone to join the trip without pushing the budget too far. For me, the Presidential Suite was the real gem of the trip. I was genuinely surprised by how reasonably priced it was considering the amount of space and comfort it offered. It made my stay feel much more luxurious without paying the prices normally associated with suites of this level. I also really liked the beach. The sea was excellent, and having such easy access to activities was a major advantage. We were able to dive, snorkel and enjoy other water activities without having to make complicated arrangements elsewhere. The snorkeling directly from the hotel beach was particularly good, and our two days of diving were one of the highlights of the trip. Overall, Savoy turned out to be a very good choice for a group of families with different budgets. It gave us the five-star resort experience at a relatively affordable price, while still offering an excellent beach and plenty of activities. The Presidential Suite, in particular, offered exceptional value and was definitely the highlight of the hotel for me.

Disliked:My biggest disappointment was the all-inclusive concept and the effect it has on the overall level of service. You can sit by the pool for hours without a waiter approaching you. Even when you manage to find someone and ask for something as simple as ice or water, very often they simply don't come back. I eventually stopped waiting and made the trips to the bar myself just to get ice and water. The frustrating part is that this affects you even if you are not on an all-inclusive package and are perfectly willing to pay for everything you order. It makes very little difference because you are still inside a resort operating around the all-inclusive formula, and unfortunately the service reflects that. The à la carte restaurants were another frustration. There is a quota on reservations, and getting a booking for a family can be extremely difficult. I eventually had to make my own arrangements to secure reservations. Even after managing to get a table, the service can still leave you with the feeling that you are being served as if everything is "free," rather than dining in a five-star restaurant where service should be an important part of the experience. This is also why I want to be fair with this review. If luxury service is not particularly important to you and your priority is having an all-inclusive family holiday at a reasonable price, you may have a completely different opinion. Many families value the convenience of all-inclusive and may not care about the things that bothered me. But if, like me, you place a high value on attentive service and expect the service level of a true luxury five-star resort, this is something you should seriously consider before booking.
