Supposedly a fancy hotel, but cheap service as 3 stars.

Liked:It is a big hotel that looks great from the outside and from pictures but it has been a big disappointment for me. I have been in many hotels in China and this was the worst experience. There was no AC despite being very hot and they said it was broken. The gym is run-down and there is not even the stuff to clean the appliances before and after the use.

Good Location and Service.

Liked:The metro station (lines 2 and 11) were within walking distance from the hotel and the staff were very quite friendly. The only negatives were that the rooms weren't too clean (carpets, particularly), the bathrooms taps didn't work well and the drain was blocked. Also, there were hints of cigarette smoke even though we stayed in a non-smoking area.

This is one of the least friendly and helpful hotels I have ever stayed at

Liked:I stayed at Merry Hotel for a conference in July 2019. My room was fine, spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel location is good too, quite convenient for taking the metro and traveling around Shanghai. However the staff at this hotel were very unhelpful and borderline hostile. First of all, all staff I had an exchange with really struggled with their English (basically, they didn't speak any). I do not expect that everyone will speak English to me, but I do expect at least someone to be able to communicate with non-Mandarin speaking customers at an international hotel. Secondly, staff were unwilling to accommodate any request, no matter how basic that was - such as printing my boarding pass for my return flight, for example. I was just told that they don't do that. Thanks a lot! Other annoying things included a hotel shuttle bus to the airport which did not exist, an expensive breakfast which I opted not to take but was told by colleagues was poor value for money and there were hardly enough seats for all customers, and a cold and unwelcoming lobby, which (unsurprisingly) was always empty. I would not return to this hotel.

Liked:値段が安かったので１泊しました。部屋は広くはないですが、自分は圧迫感は無かったので問題ありませでした。部屋は綺麗な方だと思います。歯ブラシが無かったのでちょっとビックリしました。あとアイロン台はあったのですが、アイロンが無くだいぶ探したのですが見つかりませんでした。総合的には値段が安くて普通に綺麗なホテルだと思います。
