More like a guesthouse than a hotel

Liked:When I booked this place, it was listed as a hotel, but to me, it felt more like a guesthouse -style accommodation. Our room was a bit cramped, especially with our larger luggage, so space was definitely limited. There’s no microwave for reheating food, although they do provide an air fryer, kettle, and toaster. There is also a dining area where guests can eat, although it’s located in a separate building outside. The property is about a 5-minute drive from Selfoss proper. Check-in was easy, but the internet was super slow. On the positive side, the place was very quiet and clean, and the bedding was comfortable. Overall, it’s a simple, no-frills place that worked well for a short stay, especially if you’re looking for something quiet and clean rather than a traditional hotel experience.

Liked:The staff was friendly, the room nicely prepared and clean. Playful dogs! Comfy beds.

Disliked:The bathrooms were already kinda dirty even early evening. The bathroom door right next to our room had troubles closing so everyone was smashing it hard anytime anyone went to bathroom at night.

Favorite place we stayed during our trip!

Liked:Clean facilities and comfortable beds, and we had a private bath. Quiet and quaint location in the countryside, and loved the friendly dogs that greeted us. Met some locals staying there. Amenities (free parking, WiFi, hot tub) were a plus! Breakfast/commons area had plenty of seating, games, and hot water with dehydrated coffee/tea available in the morning (we did not get their breakfast).

Disliked:A little pricier than preferred, but well worth it for the experience.
