They cancelled my booking the night before arrival

Disliked:They cancelled my booking at 11.30pm the night before we were due to arrive due to a "technical difficulty" via a message not even a phone call. Offered alternative accomodation 1.5hrs away from the location. I found my own accomodation nearer to Selfoss and they agreed to refund but communication was slow and they only seemed to reply once I raised a dispute with booking.com. I did receive a refund but never had an explanation into what the "technical difficulty" was and thought the whole customer experience was terrible.

Cancelled shortly before arrival and no proper resolution The property cancelled our Lake View Tent reservation shortly

Liked:Cancelled shortly before arrival and no proper resolution The property cancelled our Lake View Tent reservation shortly before arrival, citing an unforeseen technical issue and later saying that all domes were closed due to a system problem. We could not accept the replacement options offered, as they were not equivalent to our original reservation. The cancellation forced us to arrange last-minute replacement accommodation and modify our tour plans at additional cost. Most concerningly, the same Lake View Tent still appeared available to book on Booking.com for the exact same dates after we were told it was closed. Instead of processing the refund directly, the property instructed us to contact Booking.com and wait for a refund link. We cannot comment on the room itself because we were not allowed to stay, but the handling of the cancellation and refund was very disappointing.

Very upsetting given the price

Liked:We always wanted to stay in a bubble dome and wished we can love it more. The bathroom is modern. The beds are comfy. Its really got potential.

Disliked:For contactless access, we depended heavily on 1 single email that came pretty late in the day. Unfortunately the staff Maricela, gave us the wrong address. Which gave us a bit of a detour. But what was worse was she gave us the instructions to check into a Dome that was already occupied. You can imagine the horror between both groups. And the scarier part was we had no access code to our dome and it was getting late in the night. We called the number but no one picked up. We were traveling with young child so we were literally afraid we be on the streets since everything closes by 9pm around there. I got creative and found workers coming from the restaurant nearby to contact her. Finally got the right access codes for the right dome. Sadly after all that, half of the lights didnt work. Bathroom lights didnt turn on, nor did the lights above the bed. Such a crazy night. BUT It was only a 1 night stay so we just dealt with it. So sad. Everyone was looking forward to this because this was a bubble dome.
