Beautiful resort in a beautiful country

Liked:Tons of staff. Everywhere you look, staff are cleaning, grooming, entertaining, gardening, preparing etc. They are all very friendly and helpful. The resort is very clean, has everything you need. So much food to choose from. My only concern is that you cannot get into some restaurants, especially steak house without a huge wait or as we found out on our last night, by booking on the app. I feel every guest should be able to experience every restaurant without any hassle. So that is my only complaint. Riu's are run the exact same no matter where you go. The staff wear the same coloured uniforms for the job that they have, the entertainment schedule is the same, the animation schedule is the same. If you like Riu, you will love this resort. The staff are what make it, and they all rock. The highlight of our trip were the excursions and the monkeys on the beach. There is so much wild life in Costa Rica and we sure saw a lot.

Surprisingly Awesome!

Liked:Amazing family trip! We went here for 4 nights and were very happily surprised by how good everything was! After reading some not so good reviews we had low expectations but in the end had a fantastic trip! The hotel and rooms are all newly renovated, beautiful and clean. The pool is huge and well maintained and the waterslides were a big hit. The beach is amazing and we had a great time wave jumping everyday! The buffet was also plentiful and tasty for every meal. Additionally, the monkeys down the beach were a real highlight and our son loved feeding them every morning. Now for a few cons........ you can't make restaurant reservations and have to line up starting at 5pm so we didn't actually eat at any of them. Additionally the entertainment was pretty bad and quite repetitive. They have the kids club perform every night around 8pm and it was pretty tortuous to watch. Other then that I would highly recommend this resort!

I didn’t want to leave…

Liked:It was my families first time ever traveling to Costa Rica. The rooms were beautiful and clean and the resort was recently renovated. Food was good - lots of variety at the buffet. Breakfast was my favorite! Fresh tropical fruit and all the American breakfast staples + a variety of other traditional breakfast options! I also had great lobster, local fish, fresh salads, and pasta for lunch and dinner. The pool was so fun - a lot of seating, swim up bar, plenty of shade. But I did get burnt - the sun down here doesn’t mess around! Be prepared and wear sandals when walking on the pool decks/beach as thy get super hot. We also saw howler and capuchin monkeys, parrots, and iguanas right in the beach! The hotel staff was so friendly, accommodating, and welcoming - housekeeping worked around the clock. We were so impressed by their service! Lastly - make sure you book with Luis Solutions! We experienced so many incredible sights with him and he was extremely kind and knowledgeable! Waterfall, hot springs, rainforest, an intimate encounter with a wild sloth, and horseback riding in the beach. Incredible!

Costa Rica getaway

Liked:This hotel was new and nice. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The food was good and plenty to choose from. Large property and beautiful views. Large rooms. we booked through Delta vacations and it was a good value. They were cleaning the property 24 hours a day. If you are on the courtyard it could be loud some nights from the entertainment they has at the stages. I would highly recommend it.
