Clean, lovely historic home with pastoral views and a view to the sea - friendly helpful hosts

Liked:A beautiful spot overlooking the fields and then the ocean. There were two outside covered areas with a table to eat outside both with lovely views. House itself was very clean and comfortable - the online photos don’t do it justice. The host was very friendly and helpful - laundry onsite

Disliked:There was a road going right by but it was quiet at night and the street was local so only a few cars passing mostly at the start and end of the day - no complaints

Liked:The owner of the place, Sr. Manuel, met us when we arrived and opened the gates and door for us. He even prepared a bottle of wine for us! :) it was a wonderful trip! and staying at Quinta dos Afectos made it even better! we really felt home. we could use all the facilities - fireplace, grill, all kitchen staff. the rooms were clean and warm. The location is great - close to the airport and Ponta Delgada but in a quiet village. we managed to see a lot of places as the most remote place was 1-1.5 h drive from the Quinta. if we have a chance to come back to Sao Miguel, we will definitely stay here again.

Disliked:Nothing really. The only thing, may be, one of our friend was quite tall and he hit the upper part of the doorway a couple of times. is it possible to attach some some tissue to the upper part of the doorways in the house?
