Segara Village exceeded our expectations

Liked:The location on the beach is fantastic - very close to Baruna Markets, short walk to Icon Mall, lots of cafés and warungs nearby, easy walking distance to Tamblingan Road. Three pools to choose from, fab buffet breakfast at Byrd House Restaurant. Byrd House Café on site. Staff were all very friendly and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We had a room at the back of the resort which was lovely and quiet, comfortable bed and very clean. The turn down service each night was a lovely little extra (with house-baked mini chocolate chip cookies). The grounds and garden are lovely and very well kept - and the resident ginger cat was very affectionate! The main pool near the restaurant can be very busy as it is available to public as well as guests but there is a smaller pool not far away for guests only which is where we spent the majority of our pool time. There is also a pool with swim up bar which seemed to only be open late afternoon and we only saw people in that pool a couple of times. The Sunday BBQ they offer at the Byrd House restaurant is worth the price (not expensive by western standards but quite a bit pricier than the local warungs). Can definitely recommend the tuna steak - best meal we had in Sanur. We really enjoyed our stay at Segara and would happily stay again. Have no problem recommending to others

Ok, but poor value for money.

Liked:Love the location. It was beautifully lit at night. Lagoon pool was nice; plenty of sun loungers. Bathroom was nice.

Disliked:The room (bungalow) we were allocated was okay but it was situated at the rear of the hotel grounds to left alongside the boundary wall. Private and quiet BUT the stench of cooking smells and grease from the back of the restaurant next door was disgusting. It was constant and I had to buy air freshener for our room and keep the door closed. It meant that we were not able to enjoy our terrace at all. For the price ($250 a night) this was very disappointing. Breakfast was ok; the fresh fruit and pastries were good but the hot selection was not good quality at all: boiled sausages and stewed bacon. Service overall was hit and miss. There are a lot of staff members but sometimes impossible to get their attention. Pool area was not cleaned through the day: rubbish (food wrappers etc) not cleared away. Pool side drinks service was non existent. They issue towel cards and then remind you relentlessly to bring the towels back and not keep them; which is obvious. There are signs everywhere regarding all of their “rules” which were common sense but the signage was over the top. Overall, the location is what makes this place lovely. I’d stay again but request a room on the northern side to avoid the smells, but only if I could get a better value rate.

We as a family with 2 kids absolutly loved it

Liked:We really enjoyed the tranquility and gardens of the resort even though it was quite central and just 6 min walk to Icon Mall. Great pools including one just for kids. Bird restaurant was also great. Great and super friendly staff

The project will focus on upgrading the Deluxe rooms in Village 1 and The Segara@Village 2 to provide a more modern and luxurious guest experience. The renovation is estimated to take approximately 1.5 years. During this time, the rest of the hotel, including other room categories and all facilities, will remain fully operational to ensure uninterrupted service for our valued guests.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in.
