What's wrong with a light switch.

Liked:The decor is not my thing but the main dissatisfaction was about the funky lack of a light switch for the bathroom. The light comes on automatically when you enter - but randomly turned off mid-shower. There is not a fan in the windowless bathroom. No mini fridge. Breakfast options were decent for what you typically get with "free" breakfast.

Cleanliness Issue - Did Not Stay

Liked:I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at the Cheshire Hotel in St. Louis. Unfortunately, we were unable to stay at all due to serious cleanliness issues. We checked into two rooms and each one had visible hair in the bed sheets. This was unacceptable and immediately raised concerns about overall sanitation. After seeing this repeated issue, we did not feel comfortable staying and ultimately had to leave and find accommodations elsewhere. What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of a clear resolution process. The staff was unconcerned with the issue and management had the chef bring up ‘clean’ sheets for us to remake the bed with. The experience was stressful and inconvenient, particularly after traveling all day. It’s a shame because we heard wonderful things about the hotel (or what it presumably used to be) from locals and were very excited to experience it ourselves, especially given its proximity to Forest Park. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, but this fell far short. I would strongly recommend the hotel address its housekeeping standards before welcoming future guests. Furthermore, we booked through TripAdvisor and, while we were ultimately refunded, it took many calls and emails to multiple agents in order to resolve the matter. I would not book through TripAdvisor again.

This place is growing on me. In a good way.

Liked:Interesting place with an Olde Tyme, British literary, kinda vibe. Clean bed, comfortable. Good hot shower. Great AC. Coffee Keurig in the room. Watch out for the corners of the bed frame, they will take out your shins. The necessary pillars of existence are met. Wonderful, savory food at The Basso Restaurant. Continental breakfast. Adequate and satisfactory. Bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, bagels, yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, coffee and fruit. Overall, nice and comfortable stay. Ten $$$ a night for parking. Oh well. Very nicely equipped Wellness Room.
