Antigua's natural beauty helped offset our disappointment with the hotel.

Liked:The staff were friendly and professional, which is what one would expect from a hotel of this level. We also enjoyed the restaurant's waterfront location, where breakfast is served. Dinner was good, and the chef's work left a positive impression. Unfortunately, that was where the positive aspects of our stay largely ended.

Disliked:Our room was located on the ground floor. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a persistent moldy smell, so the first thing we did was open the terrace door to air the room out. However, the terrace itself was quite surprising for a hotel in this price range: broken tiles on a rusted base and an empty, neglected planter. It is difficult to reconcile such conditions with the expectations of guests paying more than $800 per night. The next morning, I was awakened by a hotel employee standing on our terrace. He had climbed over the external fence to access a hatch hidden beneath the broken tiles. After noticing me, he left the same way he had entered. This raised serious concerns about guest privacy. The room itself also did not live up to either its advertised standard or its price. The finishes, furniture, and overall layout were very mediocre, and many design choices were simply impractical. It felt as though little thought had been given to guest comfort and that the designers had never experienced the level of attention to detail commonly found in international hotel chains. Disappointed with the room, we went to see the beach. In the hotel's photos it appears spacious and impressive. In reality, it is a small cove only about 30–40 meters long and looks very different from the promotional images. I would also like to mention a safety concern. In the bathroom, glass containers for shampoo and toiletries are positioned directly beneath the towel rack. When I pulled down a towel, I accidentally knocked one over. It shattered on the floor. Fortunately, I was not injured, but this placement seems poorly thought out. My husband and I had been traveling around the Caribbean islands, and this hotel was our final stop before returning home. Fortunately, the islands' natural beauty prevented this stay from spoiling our overall impression of the trip. However, given the room rate, our expectations were far higher than what we actually experienced.
