844 reviews

Highlights

  • +Beautiful, peaceful location with great views
  • +Comfortable, well-decorated cottages
  • +Well-equipped kitchens in many units
  • +Friendly and hospitable hosts
  • +Good breakfasts and fruit selection
  • +Family- and child-friendly (horses on site)

Could Improve

  • –Occasional shower cleanliness issues and sewer smell in shared bathroom
  • –Staff/communication problems — poor phone responsiveness and limited on-site contact
  • –Kitchen use sometimes restricted or charged; minimal supplied consumables
  • –Limited parking and remote location
  • –Some small rooms and minor equipment issues (e.g., warped pan)
Cleanliness8.3

Many guests describe the property as clean and well kept, but there are repeated mentions of shower cleanliness issues and a sewer-gas smell in a shared bathroom, so overall slightly below perfect.

Service8.6

Hosts are frequently described as friendly and helpful, with uncomplicated communication in several reviews; however there are multiple complaints about poor phone responsiveness, limited on-site staff and check-in communication problems.

Location9.9

Consistently praised: peaceful, beautiful natural setting, close to attractions (e.g., Diamond Beach), island horses and great views — a major strength.

Room Quality9.6

Rooms and cottages are described as comfortable, well furnished and nicely decorated with comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchens, though some units are small and have minor quirks (e.g., glass door, warped pan).

Amenities8.3

Kitchens are generally well equipped but their use is sometimes charged or restricted; guests note minimal supplied consumables (no paper towels), limited parking and occasional heating or shower issues.

Value for Money8.8

Overall seen as good value given location and comfort, but extra charges for kitchen use, breakfast and some service limitations reduce perceived value for some guests.

Food and Beverage9.7

Breakfasts are highlighted positively (good selection, fresh fruit, 'amazing' breakfast) though frequently available for an additional charge.

Overall Experience9.6

Overall very positive: peaceful, comfortable, clean in many reports with hospitable hosts and good breakfasts; operational and amenity shortcomings are noted but do not dominate most guests' experiences.

Loved the bed, enjoyed the privacy, and comfortable.

Liked:Very Comfortable bed (yeah!) and quite a private cabin #8. Small but just fine for one night. The wind was blowing wickedly too which could either be exciting or nerve wracking. LOL.
Disliked:Our one complaint there was NO place to put your body wash and shampoo in the shower. No shelf or rack. Also, there was just one little “all in one” packet of body wash/ shampoo for each person. So bring your own.
