Liked:I had a wonderful stay at Porto Lounge Hostel & Guesthouse by Host Wise. Its central location is perfect for exploring Porto, the rooms are comfortable, and the historic building gives the place a truly original character. A special thank you to Samara, the concierge, whose kindness made my stay even better. She took the time to give me valuable recommendations and marked the best places to visit on a map. Her advice helped me discover and enjoy the city.

Liked:Great location, very central. Beds were comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms were always clean. There is a light and a small shelf inside each bed cabin, and blackout curtains. Lockers are inside the room, each kept safe with a padlock (bring your own). Good size tables and sofas in the communal areas. All very clean. There is a clothes line outside to hang dump clothes.

Disliked:The hand soap wasn't great quality so I bought my own. It would be nice if shower gel and towels were included as they are in many hostels. A few more hangers in the room would be nice as I had to put my towel on a lamp to dry a bit.

WORST HOSTEL OF MY LIFE

Disliked:This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. I have stayed in many hostels throughout my life, but this one is hands down the absolute worst. Beyond the filth visible everywhere—especially in the common kitchens (photos attached) and the rooms—the property is severely INFESTED with BED BUGS. Do not be fooled, as I was, by the positive ratings, which seem to come mostly from private room bookings. If you look closely at the hostel reviews, you will quickly notice that bed bugs are a recurring, long-standing issue here. While you can request a refund, you will be left stranded in the middle of the night with nowhere to go unless you are willing to pay out of pocket for another place. It was a massive waste of money and a terrible experience. Trust me, STAY AWAY. There was a full-blown INFESTATION in progress.

They are VERY rude, unreasonable, and unprofessional

Liked:I thought the property was nice, but the owner/manager is unreasonably rude and they don’t like to help their customers who have stayed there before. It’s old, crusty, and the people are mean!!

Disliked:The JERKS at the front WILL NOT work with you!!
