Liked:The location is very central and convenient, but what we loved most was being right by the lake. The view is absolutely beautiful and made the stay feel so peaceful. There’s also an outdoor fireplace, and we loved that we could enjoy a fire in the evening. They also provide a BBQ grill, which was such a great addition and made it easy to have a relaxed meal by the lake.

Disliked:Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the cottage really let the experience down for us. When we arrived, we found quite a lot of hair on the sheets, pillows and blankets. We are quite sensitive to dust, and almost as soon as we stepped inside, we started sneezing and continued throughout the night. The bathroom also didn’t feel properly cleaned. We found hair in several areas, and there were a lot of dead insects around the bathroom sink. We actually ended up cleaning parts of the bathroom ourselves just so we could feel more comfortable using it. The cottages are also quite old and could really benefit from some renovation and maintenance. The bed was extremely squeaky and made a loud noise every time we moved, which made it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. It’s a shame because the location and lake views are genuinely lovely, and the property has a lot of potential. However, based on the cleanliness and condition of the cottage during our stay, unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant experience for us.

Liked:The property and staff were lovely and helpful. This would be a fisherman’s delight.

Disliked:The window blinds were broken so bedroom privacy was an issue. The pans were teflon coated and very scratched so I felt unsafe using them. If we stay again next year, we know to bring our own pans for cooking.
