Liked:From the homestay one can easily walk to Durbar Square and wander around all over Pathan. The hosts have a traditional rooms that have a unique feel to it. Looking out of the terrace, one can see the temple and the other houses, people-watch! Conversations with Uncle Shudarshan and his wife Shila in their common area is so fun and insightful. I learned about Newari culture and Nepal. They were also perceptive when I shared about my own culture, so it was somewhat like a cultural exchange. They are so kind and accommodating whenever I needed help.

Disliked:The mattress is tough and the water pressure is weak so showering takes a little longer. The water went out once (maybe the water tank was empty) and electricity went out once during my stay. It is a homestay though and even hotels can the same problems depending on the price or just circumstances, so it’s not below my expectations.

Wonderful homestay

Liked:This place is a real gem. I felt so welcome, Shila and Sudarshan are the loviest people and they took such good care of me, even making me soup when I was feeling a bit sick. The room is very cosy and I loved sitting on the terrace in the sun, the view of Patan is wonderful. I also found Patan a really nice alternative to staying in Kathmandu, it’s more quiet (especially in the evening) and all the main sights of Kathmandu are still only a short taxi ride away.

Cosy, comfortable, authentic, and warm homestay -- a gem!

Liked:This homestay left a deep impression. When we arrived, we were greeted by the couple running the homestay. They offered us local snacks and fruit and warm chai. They were so hospitable, helpful, and kind to us -- we felt so welcome both in the homestay but also in Nepal. The owners helped us with everything above expectation which we really appreciate. The room itself was a decent size, with a balcony that allowed us to enjoy the lively square and soak up the Nepalese history and culture. The location is perfect: there are delicious restaurants and cafés right at the same square. It is also a few minutes away from the Durban Square, Patan Museum, and local markets. We highly recommend this fantastic homestay!

Disliked:We loved everything. It was only a bit difficult to find the right entrance the first time.
