Liked:Lovely host family that really made me feel like staying home! The room was cozy and nicely decorated and had a private terrace. Communication with the hosts was smooth. Breakfast was amazing.

Disliked:House is located right next to a busy intersection, can get loud.

Liked:Staying here was an absolute delight. I only returned to China yesterday and am already reminiscing about my journey in Nepal. With Shira taking such good care of me, Kathmandu was not only my first stop but also the warmest beginning to my entire trip. Beyond providing daily breakfast and laundry services, she treated me like family with thoughtful care. Staying here gave me more than just a safe, beautiful, and cozy room—it showered me with genuine kindness and warmth in a foreign land.

Liked:From the homestay one can easily walk to Durbar Square and wander around all over Pathan. The hosts have a traditional rooms that have a unique feel to it. Looking out of the terrace, one can see the temple and the other houses, people-watch! Conversations with Uncle Shudarshan and his wife Shila in their common area is so fun and insightful. I learned about Newari culture and Nepal. They were also perceptive when I shared about my own culture, so it was somewhat like a cultural exchange. They are so kind and accommodating whenever I needed help.

Disliked:The mattress is tough and the water pressure is weak so showering takes a little longer. The water went out once (maybe the water tank was empty) and electricity went out once during my stay. It is a homestay though and even hotels can the same problems depending on the price or just circumstances, so it’s not below my expectations.
