Good location, great staff, clean and decent hotel, small rooms.

Liked:Located a five minute walk from the magnificent Bois de Vincennes Park, the Hôtel De La Porte Dorée is located in Paris’ 12th arrondissement. The hotel is older, but very well-kept, and did not look worn. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room was ok. It was clean but small (expected in Paris), with a decent sized bathroom with a shower only. The bed was a bit too firm, but serviceable.

Disliked:There was no closet, per se, but an open Ikea-like closet shelf and hanger set-up (not very user friendly). Overall, the location and cleanliness of the room were fine for a short stay (two days), but anything longer term would have become more uncomfortable for two people because of the size of the room.

It was nice overall - nice selection at breakfast, nice and friendly staff, close to the underground.

Liked:It is very close to the underground and a nice hotel in general. We appreciated that there were offered white bathrobes and slippers:)

Disliked:Our room was a bit dark but had an entrance to the outside patio so it was ok.
