ECO? A pretentious joke!

Liked:Picked up from the airport after 10pm - good result. Air con in the bedroom was very good and the Wifi was also very good. Location was quiet and the room was clean but the toilet was constantly leaking water all over the bathroom. ECO???? This was reported to the reception but nothing was done about it. On the second day the toilet handle broke so the only way of flushing the toilet was to take the heavy porcelain lid off and pull the little chain manually with your arm up to it's elbow in water. Call this a holiday? Check out is at 11am so we asked the reception lady if we could stay one more hour on out check out day until midday as our flight didn't leave until 4pm. She said yes no problem. On the day of our departure there was a knock at the door at 11.45am informing us we had to pay $10 extra because we didn't check out at 11am. It was the same receptionist smiling assassin who had told us we could stay until midday. Why din't she call our room and ask why we hadn't left at 11am?? She also told us we could not get the free shuttle to the airport because we checked out late?? Check out time - After having quit a heated argument with the hotel staff we were verbally informed the shuttle bus times were between 08:30am - 10:30am. I asked the staff where it states this information as it's not mentioned in the room or the booking confirmation. The staff said is doesn't say it anywhere and there's nothing we can do about that. We had to pay $15 for a taxi to the airport. So, on the topic of warning signs...wow...I've travelled all over the world and spend 80% of my time in hotels. I've never witnessed so many rules and regulations within the hotel room. There's a $10 fine if bath towels are dirty, don't do this and don't do that. There are warning signs in every room in the apartment. This hotel is out to make money for sure! The cooker is gas and works well, and other kitchen utensils are adequate. Would we stay here again? Absolutely not because this wasn't exactly a holiday experience and there are too many other places to stay in Aruba. Be careful of the receptionist as she is full of smiles but has a few metaphorical knives up her sleeve if you know what I mean.

Nice place

Liked:Friendly owner and helpfull, the apartment was ok(less the mattress and the equipment of the kitchen is poor only 2 old pans and a pot)the pool is nice, not very busy and good situated. Near the airport.

Good for the price

Liked:I had the chance to stay at Agua Clara for one night due to a long lay over, the hotel is really conveniently located, 10 min from the airport, so if you are staying one night in Aruba this is an excellent option! Even for a long stay it could work as well, since they have kitchen aid, microwave and fridge, obviously it will also depend on your choices and if you are picky well this I not for you, although I am really picky and worked for me. I would stay here for a week, it is now close to the beach but is like 15 min away. Please consider is not a big hotel but is clean and neat, it has a pool, AC, save, clean bathroom and bedroom. Make sure if you stay tell them In advance the arrival time since the front desk close early. They can even pick you up at the airport for a better rate than the local taxi. Will stay again at agua Clara.
