Disliked:A 4-star hotel cancelling a confirmed booking on the day of arrival is simply unacceptable. We booked one month in advance via Booking.com using an American Express Gold card. The hotel claimed the day if the arrival that they “could not process the payment.” This is false — American Express confirmed that no charge was ever attempted. We called the hotel three times: no answer. We sent a message asking to be contacted: no response. The only communication we received was a last-minute cancellation notice (see attached). As a result, we were left without accommodation for our final three nights in Greece. This is not a minor issue — it’s a complete failure of basic hospitality standards. Previous negative reviews mention similar situations. We assumed they were exceptions. They are not. Avoid.

Absolutely perfect

Liked:This was an exceptional hotel. Oia is a beautiful place and the Pearl of Caldera has the most perfect location with stunning views of the volcanic islands, Fira, the sea, and back to Oia itself. We had a lovely cave room with our own hot tub. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the bathroom was lovely and the sheets and towels changed every day. We had everything we needed. Jola and the team were always on hand and helpful, but not intrusive. The breakfast was delicious. And the pool area was so cool with amazing views of the sea Santorini and the islands. They provided a member of the team to carry our suitcase from the taxi to the hotel which featured over 100 steps. I'd have keeled over if I'd tried to donut myself, and they organised a transfer with a great driver and a smart comfortable air conditioned car. It was the perfect r stay

Disliked:The only minor issue is the steps to climb back up to Oia's main strip but climbing steps is a necessary part of being in Oia, and a price worth paying to stay somewhere as amazing as The Pearl of Caldera. It wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues but it was fine for us.

Liked:Plunge pool was well heated so we could enjoy it in the evening. The view from the plunge pool, terrace and from the rooftop is just incredible.

Disliked:So many stairs to get to the room. Poor sound isolation (there was a bachelorette party apparently somewhere and we could hear it)

Amazing stay at the Pearl of Caldera

Liked:We had an amazing stay at the Pearl! The views are out of this world. We loved the breakfast everyday and sitting by the pool. Jola was an incredible host! She recommended great restaurants and excursions and booked them for us! Highly recommend.
