Gorgeous town- beautiful and tranquil. Excellent apartment

Liked:Very conveniently located and able to park for free. Very responsive and helpful host. Clean uncluttered apartment with all mod cons. Nice cotton bedding and plenty of towels. Ample wardrobe and cupboard space. Washing capsules and dishwasher tablets left for us. Useful cooking basics in the kitchen cupboard. Big fridge.

Disliked:There are very light curtains and no shutters on windows so if you’re a light sleeper, take an eye mask. I was glad to have taken ear plugs as the church bell (next door) chimes through the night. It would be helpful to have a draining rack in the kitchen by the sink and a dish with a lid (eg Pyrex) for cooking in the microwave.

Liked:So very clean!!! Central location. Pretty church nearby. Non-smoking property. Surroundings. The mountains. The creek. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking and climbing. No car is needed, you can reach everything via foot from the village. Plenty of traditional, relatively well priced restaurants in walking distance. Check out the alms around. It's always worth a visit for traditional food. Don't worry, you'll walk off the calories getting there. The owner, M, who lives next door with their family, is very friendly, accommodating, and approachable. Fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable sofas and beds. The cosy kitchen was a hit to hang out in. Recycling your rubbish is recommended, and the system is well set up. Appreciated the day bed in the lounge for the occasional afternoon nap. Good WiFi. The very spacious bathroom holds a sauna. Unfortunately, it was too hot outside to use it. A free car parking permit for the surroundings was provided. Thank you. We had a wonderful stay. Wouldn't hesitate to book this place again.

Disliked:There was nothing I didn't like. For those not in the know, most German tourist locations charge a Kur-tax. For Oberammergau, it was €2.50/person/day. Be prepared to be asked to pay in cash on arrival. The tax goes to the council, not the property owner. In general, cash still gets you a long way in Germany.
