Overall, while expensive, this place was amazing. We would return and recommend.

Liked:Clean, comfortable, beautiful property in a fantastic location. We were able to walk to everything. The staff were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to engage with our toddler. Also the tap water is safe, which made everything so much easier.

Disliked:We had no upstairs neighbor until the last night, which was fortunate because the sound of them dragging chairs across the tile floor was super loud. On Saturday night, the club music was a little intense, but didn’t reach us in the bedroom.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Liked:We moved to El Callejon as our original hotel was not good. From the moment we arrived here we knew we had made a wonderful decision. This is a truly beautiful hotel set in a beautiful oasis of a garden and incredibly calm and relaxing as a result. The staff could not be more hospitable or helpful and I would recommend that anyone staying in Oaxaca stays here, it is a real gem. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it such a great stay in Oaxaca

Not worth it

Liked:Poorly located - not near the centre. Hard to find - at the end of a lane which is blocked off. Right next to a night club which played extremely loud music from 6pm to the early hours of the morning and the staff were unhelpful. Could hear other guests. Food choice limited. Not value for 770 AU Dollars!

Liked:Delightful courtyard for breakfast and a bar (best margarita in Oaxaca!); room was lovely; location terrific--walkable to the centro but quiet

Disliked:I did think the room was pricey, but I imagine that's based on demand; also we didn't need such a huge living room, but I believe that was all that was available for our dates
