Decent Place, Disappointing handling of situation

Liked:Good location, pleasant ambience, and facilities. Overall, it was a decent value for the price, but the experience could definitely be better with a few improvements.

Disliked:My biggest disappointment was how the host handled a scheduled building maintenance notice. Property management announced on September 1st that water service would be shut off from 9.30 AM to 6:30 PM and can be extended longer on our check-in day (September 3rd). However, the host only notified us a few hours before check-in alongside the access details. This should have been communicated at least a day in advance to allow us to cancel, or make alternative arrangements. Because of this late notice (whether done on purpose or genuinely missed it), our plans were disrupted. As the water wasn't restored until 7.30 PM, forcing us to go elsewhere to get ready for an event. The water only restored after 9.30 pm. Offer from host to use reserved water in bottle and for team to bring buckets was not practical at that point. Aside from this incident, the property overall is a decent place to stay. A few minor updates would make a difference: the downstairs mattress is uncomfortable and could use an upgrade, extra pillows would be better, and adding a shelf for shower gel and shampoo in the downstairs bathroom is needed. The upstairs mattress, however, was comfortable.
