Booked 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa. Was sent to a different business at a different address

Liked:Upon arrival, we were never offered a room at 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa - the 4-star hotel we booked and paid for ($442 CAD per night, not including their "resort fee" which entities you to zero amenities). We were directed instead to The Gate House, 142 Queen St. Different name. Different address. Different business. This is not a matter of interpretation. The Gate House and 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa maintain completely separate, independent listings on Google Maps (The Gate House: wedding venue, 4.4★/178 reviews; 124 on Queen: 4-star hotel, 4.7★/1,216+ reviews), TripAdvisor (The Gate House: restaurant, 4.1/27 reviews; 124 on Queen: hotel, 4.6/886 reviews), and Yelp. Two pins. Two profiles. Two businesses. The word "adjacent" does not transform a wedding venue into a 4-star hotel. We inspected the room anyway. Here is what we found: Two full-size commercial shipping containers (ID on one: SJCU2072620) were parked directly in front of the entrance. The room window faced three industrial dumpsters and a lot with construction debris, undisclosed in any listing material. The room was materially smaller than the 400 square feet stated in the listing. Underground parking, listed as an amenity, did not exist. The spa facility requires crossing a grocery store parking lot to reach, yet an extra "resort fee" was charged for it regardless. We declined the room. We secured alternative accommodation at Pillar & Post and paid out of pocket. The hotel's response: our contract was with Expedia. Expedia's response: sorry your "stay" didn't meet expectations. There was no stay. There was no room at the property we booked. "Didn't meet expectations" is not the category this falls into. The evidence is documentary, photographic, and third-party verified. These are not complaints, they are facts. Do not book 124 on Queen.

Amazing Business Retreat

Liked:I recently worked with the incredible 124 on Queen team to organize a corporate off-site involving both daytime meetings and overnight stays and I cannot recommend them enough!! I had not organized a corporate event for my company before and as it was for the senior executives, there were a lot of moving parts to iron out to ensure I hit the brief. There was a lot of back-and-forth during the planning stages and I was so impressed by how caring and understanding the team was to my demands and changes;) They remained patient and attentive throughout ensuring every detail was tailored to our needs so we were perfectly set up for success! We used The Gate House for our daytime meetings. It is a stunning room flooded with natural light which kept the energy high and the atmosphere professional and happy. The AV setup was seamless and incredibly easy to use—no technical headaches to slow us down. The food provided during the day was excellent. There were plenty of options to suit everyone, and the snack selection was a huge hit with the team! The overnight accommodations were beautiful, providing a high-end, comfortable retreat after a long day of work. We hosted a private dinner at Treadwell Cuisine and it was spectacular. The setting was intimate and the meal was easily a highlight of the trip. Overall the property itself is breathtaking and perfectly situated in the heart of Niagara. Between the top-tier service, the beautiful meeting spaces, and the ease of execution, this was a seamless experience. We will definitely be going back again next year!

Amazing location in an amazing town with super comfy beds!

Liked:Beds were huge and very comfy Pillows were very comfy Fridge in room was handy for my wine & water Very spacious bathroom with l’occitane toiletries Good heating/cooling system Nice bar and restaurant (although we didn’t eat there) Perfect location on the Main Street and a short stroll to the lake. A very scenic 30 min drive to Niagara Falls. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Disliked:No USB charging points. The first day our room was cleaned they didn’t replace toilet roll and the 2nd day we left our do not disturb sign on by accident so ended up running out!
