Needs a few million spent on it

Liked:looks great in pictures. maintenance, like most Indian hotels, virtually non existent. Hard to find a plug for my phone that worked. Mattress needed replacing. Local dogs using swimmingpool. Dodgy electrics to tv Relatively clean I think. 2.5 star at most

Majestic

Liked:Fantastic and majestic. Don't remember any hotel larger than this other than las Vegas hotels. Corridors are beautiful so are rooms. Really. Loved everything about it great hotel. Rooms are beautiful and look like home highly recommended

Grand old property but extremely dated needing serious renovation

Liked: ⏰ check in 14.00 check out 12.00 🏊‍♂️ 🏋️‍♂️💼 🧖💃💇‍♀️💆Activities 🅿 Free Parking 🛫 Airport 10 km 🚂 New Delhi 7 km 🐾Pets not allowed 🤷‍♂Language spoken: English, Hindi I recently stayed at this hotel. Checked in at 2 pm and the process was smooth. We booked one Standard Room with Twin Bed. Let us now move to the review of facilities and my experience ( Rating have been assigned in a Scale of 1 to 5 , 5 being highest):- A. Location : Very conveniently located at the heart of the city but quiet location at DiplomaticEnclave. Hotel arranges paid airport pick up on request. (Rating 5). B. Room : Room was of about 264 square feetsize , well furnished, with two queen sized bed, two seperate wardrobes, Flat screen TV , small sitting couch and a writing desk . Bed was rightly soft, comfy with linens . The room had wood flooring and clean and have all amenities that you expect in a 5 Star property viz. tea making facility, refrigerator, minibar, iron board, bathrobes, slippers, safe . Adequate bottles of water are provided and tea pouches replaced every day. Toilet was good in size and with a seperate shower enclosure . Toilet is fitted with sanitary fitings of good quality with hot and cold water. Toileteries like shampoo, body wash and body lotion were provided. Towels looks dated and overused . Quality of toileteries are ordinary. Room had good air conditioning. However, the room looks dated requiring immediate renovation. In our room the door lock was faulty and often didn't close.(Rating 3.75) C. Facilities : The hotel has all facilities that you expect in a 5 star business hotel. Tge hotel building is huge. From one corner to the other corner of the corridor almost one km.The lobby area is huge with reception and bell desk area well marked. The hotel has business centre, laundry and ironing service, restaurants, patteserie, fully stocked bar, spa and wellness centre, swimming pool, , garden, cocierge service, tour service etc. Room service is available 24 hours. However, the hotel has signs of govt. ownership all around. (Rating 4) D. Dining options: The hotel has three restaurants. 24 hours coffee shop Samavar, Oudh serving Awadhi cuisines, Frontier serves North Western Cuisine, Sagar Ratna for South Indian Cuisine and a cake shop. We had our breakfast at Samavar. Food quality is very ordinary though the buffet spread was elaborate (Rating 4). E. Overall service : The hotel has very well behaved team of staff at the reception and also at its housekeeping. All requests are met immediately with a smile. But the staffs are not efficient enough. (Rating 3.75). F. Suggested improvements: The property, interior, toilet fittings look extremely dated and the hotel is due for some major upliftments. Just ok option for business travellers or for luxury stay with family but not value for money. (OVERALL RATING 3.5)

LEISURELY LUNCH

Liked:This review is about the Coffee Shop, which I have visited many times over the past 30 years or so. It still retains its old-world charm. Recently I invited a group of friends there for lunch. The menu was rather limited, but we had Hakka Noodles, Fried Rice, Chilli Paneer and Cauliflower Manchurian - typical Indian style Chinese cuisine! The food was well cooked and the service was good. A great place for a leisurely lunch in the heart of New Delhi.
