Carberry Tower

Liked:Excellent place. Very quiet, far from traffic. The staff was very polite and ready to help at any time. The building itself is like a museum. You can find old organ, piano in the music room and old books in the library. You can get a nice drink at the bar and enjoy it in any of these great rooms or in the beautiful park.

Disliked:This is definitely a place worth another visit.

Lovely stay in a lovely old hotel

Liked:Breakfast was fantastic, staff very helpful. Room was lovely and the grounds were stunning.

Disliked:Although very friendly service at Breakfast the buffet was sometimes slow to get restocked

Beautiful property, but the rooms don't match a 4-star standard.

Liked:The common areas were lovely, furnished with antique furniture. The property overall was charming, and the gardens were vast and beautiful.

Disliked:The room we were given on the first night was very small and not particularly clean, with insects present because the window had apparently been left open. The spring mattress was old and uncomfortable, and kept sliding off the base. The hairdryer was stored on the floor of the closet. The next morning we noticed a stain, likely mold, under the mattress, and asked to change rooms. The new room was slightly bigger and had clean sheets, but it still wasn't well maintained — for example, the hairdryer was partly melted. Overall, the rooms don't live up to a 4-star standard or the price paid.

Liked:The staff are very nice and of course it's a converted castle. The value for money wasn't good because prices sky rocket with the events in Edinburgh.We were there for the tattoo, considering we payed £300 + and it was a buffet style breakfast didn't go down to well, also we had a meal in the restaurant, again over priced, £7 for bread and butter and a olive oil dip. My fish and chips wasn't great but my son enjoyed his burger.

Disliked:The staff.
