Smooth no-nonsense stay in Munich

Liked:The room was very good with a large bed and excellent light-blocking curtains and rather minimal noise towards the railway tracks. Everything was decently clean, just one cobweb with its tiny inhabitant. Breakfast had bretzels and obazda among other options, the breakfast eggs indeed had faces :) efficient ventilation in the room, two pillows per person provided, even extra towels available in the room. Super large whole body mirror was very useful!

Disliked:We specifically requested a quiet room, but were placed directly opposite to the heavy fire door that closed very loudly every time someone went through it, which was regularly. Similarly the toilet door in the room was very heavy and closed with a lot of noise. The only warm food option at breakfast was scrambled eggs and porridge. Hotel bar's selection of drinks was a bit underwhelming, and because of unlucky timing with a large group wanting to pay, getting service took so long we got sleepy and left instead.

Disliked:Holiday Inn Express canelled the booking without any communication from them. The booking was from Saturday to Tuesday. I had emergency surgery on the Friday & could not make the Saturday check in. My partner was always arriving on Monday. But they cancelled the booking before they checked in. No refund for the room they cancelled & they refused to communicate.

Disliked:There is a lot of people during the breakfast. It doesn’t matter which slot you book at the reception the day before. Generally breakfast is not very well organised.
