Uncomfortable & dirty -- poor customer service

Disliked:Everything here is cheap, cheap, cheap. When I arrived, my room had a broken blind, so light flooded into the bedroom all night (photos show my bedroom at midnight). The 24-hour contact number provided when I checked in is unstaffed after 6pm, so nothing was done about it. I spent a full night with no sleep. Before you check in they make you sign a waiver saying you will accept responsibility for all damage, but when I arrived, I found holes in the walls, old hair on the bed head, the sheets did not fit the bed, the towels had weird stains, there were food stains and old crumbs in the kitchen, and the light above the bed did not work. They provide the cheapest toiletries you can imagine. To enter the building you have to put a code in the front door, the vestibule door, the elevator, and a separate 10-digit code to get into your room. There is no table or desk or place to work, only bar stools, with nowhere to plug in a laptop. I left this place early, even though I had booked 5 nights. When I asked for a single-night refund to compensate for my sleepless night due to the broken blind, the hotel flatly refused to give me any money back. The hotel will probably respond here saying they fixed the blind the next day, and tried to offer me a solution, but their solution was to give me a credit for another room in their hotel ONLY if I managed to rebook my room after I left. Not compensation for their own terrible service. There are so many better options in Montreal -- I would avoid this place like the plague.

Functional and well-located

Liked:Location and size of the unit were excellent. Functionality was very good with a couple of exceptions. Never saw any staff. Aspect of the place is comfortable but cold.

Disliked:Heating and cooling units were noisy, like in an old motel. Some of the plumbing was a bit off (a handle on the shower was incomplete (but fully functional) and hot and cold reversed in bathroom sink). No way to isolate light in bedroom from the living room.

Online check-in requires a valid government-issued ID, a selfie with the ID, and a pre-authorized security deposit to be completed before check-in. A C$300 security deposit will be pre-authorized on the guest's credit card at check-in. Our cleaning team will intervene at 11:00 AM on the day of departure, and in case of damage, a report with pictures will be sent after the evaluation. If no issues are found, the pre-authorization will be released within forty-eight (48) hours of departure. Please note our virtual front desk is available 7 days a week via text, email, and phone. We provide a contactless check-in experience using a unique access code for building and room entry via a smart lock. A maximum of 2 guests per room and up to 2 visitors until 11PM are allowed. Security cameras monitor common areas; noncompliance may lead to expulsion and loss of the security deposit.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. A deposit may be required at the property.
