Clean and safe but just the basics. Would stay again.

Liked:Clean, staff was friendly, restaurant was nice, food was decent, parking was easy. 10-15 walk to Metro. Area seemed safe. A few restaurants or shopping nearby but limited with walking distance.

Disliked:A bit dated though other floors had been renovated. A bit far from downtown. Gym was quite dated and step machine buttons were missing. No cleaning spray left for equipment and water dispenser was empty. But did have more equipment than other hotel gyms I’ve been at. Pools were nice but outdoor pool was cloudy.

Clean and convenient for nearby sporting events, but the hotel is quite dated and it’s best to arrive with modest expect

Liked:The location was very convenient for us since we were in Montreal for a swim competition. It was relatively close to the sports complex and within walking distance, which was important since we didn’t have a rental car. There is also an IGA grocery store nearby. Our room was clean and reasonably well maintained despite the age of the hotel.

Disliked:The hotel is quite old and unfortunately it shows both outside and inside. Our first impression when we arrived was disappointing compared with what we expected from the photos online. One particularly strange feature was the bathroom. The sink was outside the bathroom, while the toilet and bathtub were behind a glass door that was quite transparent and didn’t even close completely in our room. We were travelling with our kids, so we mostly found it funny and confusing, but it is definitely an unusual choice for a bathroom door. Another thing that affected our expectations was the hotel’s online presentation. When searching for the hotel, many beautiful photos of the nearby Montreal Casino appear, while it was surprisingly difficult to get a clear idea of what the actual hotel building looks like. As first time visitors to Montreal, this gave us a very different impression before arriving. I think clearer exterior photos of the actual property would help guests know what to expect.

Liked:Even though the management change our room to a suite and apologized but still the room was outdated compared to the price per night.

Disliked:Front desk staff was rude and impatient. We do not speak French and she was not willing to help until my husband asked her to be patient and explain to us. The room was in the basement and was outdated and smelly ...when we went to her she said no we are not able to change it for you this is what you paid for. 9 am athe house keeping knocked the door and she thought no one was in and she tried to open the door. After an hour another house keeping was knocking hard and and opened the door. It was locked from inside, so she tried pushing it so hard.
