Fun but missed out on most activities!

Liked:Room and balcony view was wonderful. Staff was great. Loved the authentic Jamaican food! Foreigners come for the food and spirits.
Disliked:1. My bags were lost at the resort and later found. 2. Only one day there was collauh on the buffet. 3. Not enough Reggae music played. 4. Needed an activity boards! I don't want to be on a cell phone to be connected to resort activities, my vacations are to disconnect and enjoy the resort.

Grateful to the Staff during and after Hurricane Melissa

Liked:We (myself, my husband and our 3 adult children) were staying at the Jewel Grande in Montego Bay when hurricane Melissa hit. We tried to get flights out ahead of the storm but were unable to which left us riding out the storm with some other guests and the resort staff. In the after math of the storm we were unable to get flights out for another week which was a total of 15 days (7 originally planned). The resort was good at keeping us up to date with information before the storm and setting up the Club House for everyone to stay safe during the storm. The building we were in proved solid and the pre planning of a new generator and extra fuel and supplies meant we stayed comfortable. I was extremely thankful that the resort and staff put in all the work to keep my family and the other guests safe during this beast of a storm. While the all inclusive, fun and relaxing vacation that we were hoping to have was short lived (about 3 days) before the hurricane prep and protocols started to take hold it was still an experience that we will never forget. There are not enough kind words to express the gratitude we feel for the staff that went above and beyond under less than ideal circumstances to make sure we were taken care of and we had everything we needed while many of them were experiencing difficult situations from not being able to get in touch with their own families and their homes and communities being damaged or destroyed. We are extremely appreciative and grateful for all your hard work from our butlers Shanika and Vinroy-well done, to the resort manager and front desk staff which we spoke with daily, to the chefs who had to get a bit creative due to limited supplies but fed us very well, the wait staff always with a smile, the house keepers and our barman Kennon who was quiet but kept his eye out for us and took care of us as well as the many others who worked very hard to keep us comfortable until we were able to fly out. You are all valued and appreciated....Thanks so much for taking care of everyone!!, The Lyon Family
