Worst Marriott Experience Ever

Liked:Fake-friendly staff try to cover for this run down poor excuse of a Marriott. Signs of pests in room. Unclean bathrooms. Stained sheets. Worn carpets stale smelling rooms. Colleagues car broken into. Saw employees nipping alcohol on break (Michelle the mngr?). Run don’t walk from this for bag hotel.

I'd stay here again. Many pros, some cons.

Liked:While I was there, they were finishing renovation and my recently renovated room was nice. The common areas will be very nice when they're finished. Pros: Great value for a weekend stay. Great location. Felt very safe. Convenient to many great restaurants and stores, walking distance to Millbrae BART station, and literally on top of a Taco Bell. Check-in was very friendly, professional and cordial. Room and common areas were spotless. Received a Marriott loyalty upgrade. Tiny fitness room, but a reasonable amount of equipment. Bottle filler in the fitness room. Didn't try the breakfast, but I heard other guests saying it was good. Cons: The parking doesn't seem sufficient if the hotel is full. Water pressure in my room was low. And, the TVs are all tuned to Fox News when you turn them on. Strange, since every other Marriott I've been to, they're tuned to the Marriott channel. So, maybe that says something about the owner of the hotel or manager. At check-out, it seemed that I was interrupting the desk employees' conversation, and they were short and not very friendly. And, Google Maps doesn't seem to know where the hotel is. Maps always points you to the opposite of the street. Because of the many one way streets in the area, it's hard to get back to where you're going, if you pass the hotel. Btw, it's on the east side of the street. Overall, I'd stay here again, especially if they offer another great rate.
