Disappointing experience

Liked:Our experience at DUA Miami was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the hotel gave us an unpleasant impression of disorder and lack of proper maintenance. Even the condition and appearance of the carpeting immediately made the property feel neglected and not particularly clean certainly not what you expect from a hotel presenting itself as a luxury destination in Brickell. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was below an acceptable standard and, unfortunately, the room did not change our first impression. The worst part, however, was the terrible noise at night. It was extremely difficult to rest properly, which for a hotel is simply unacceptable. A stylish location means very little if guests cannot sleep comfortably. Overall, the property feels poorly maintained and lacks the level of cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail expected at this price point. There is a huge difference between the image DUA Miami tries to project and the actual guest experience. Miami and Brickell in particular has many much better alternatives. We would definitely not return and cannot recommend this hotel.

Great Choice in Brickell!

Liked:I’ve stayed here twice, and it’s a solid choice! We had a great room both times, and loved having breakfast outside on their awesome patio after a long cold Canadian winter. There were some tech issues with the Bonvoy app the first trip, but all was quickly resolved. We call our second trip a “Dua-0ver”😇. The pool area is amazing. Great views, you can choose sunshine or shade and there’s an abundance of loungers and towels available. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and it was easy to summon ride share cars once they found the correct entrance (there are two). A Our favourite Miami restaurant is a 5 minute walk away, as is a very high end shopping mall. We will be back in a heartbeat! Definitely stay here.

Overall Good!

Liked:Pretty good! Just some random things to mention. 1st - take help from a bellhop! My room was down a hallway, then another hallway and another… like a maze! And the rug was thick so it was hard to roll your suitcase. Just say yes when someone offers you help! 2nd - my view was a construction site. Thankfully nothing happened while I was there so no complaints from me but I can see that being a tad annoying / loud. I did sleep like a rock! 3rd - the hotel texts to check in to make sure all is ok (which I always think is nice). NOT at 11:06pm when I am dead asleep. I mentioned to the front desk. Reaction was laughter followers by an apology and free breakfast (I think - unless I get charged at a later date). 4th - staff was sooooo nice! Especially the woman who was on day 3 of the job! 5th - pool was fantastic! However there was no one to help with towels so I just took myself. 6th - room service was delicious! However it wasn’t in a silver platter (like the old school days) - it was delivered like Uber style and there was 1 tiny napkin. More napkins or even a real napkin would be nice (had to use a towel as a napkin) - whoops. 7th - spa was less than ideal - I’ll do a different review on that one, but I was extremely disappointed. Overall? I would come back here - but my expectations would be met knowing a few of these minor quirks.
