Lovely modern apartment in the centre of Malaga

Liked:Excellent location in the centre of Malaga, good communication by host. Very modern and clean, beds were comfy and we hardly heard any noise from other apartments or the road. We were only there for a couple of days but if we were there for longer we would have definitely upgraded and booked the apartment with a balcony.

Disliked:Bathroom is quite dark and I would have liked more light around the mirror, but this is only a minor thing and it would not put me off booking again.

Rude host would not ever want to interact with her again.

Disliked:The host told me to meet her at the property but gave no instructions on how to get inside to the third floor from the locked front door. The official check-in time was 4pm, but I asked if we could check in at 3pm, as we were arriving by train. She told me 1 month in advance that this was not possible, so we ended up going to a nearby place to sit for an hour. Then, at 3:45pm, when I asked how I would "meet her on the third floor," she said the property was ready. Would it have been that difficult to have the room ready 15 minutes earlier as a courtesy to accommodate the guests? I found her texts to be flippant, which I initially wanted to blame on cultural differences. However, after meeting her, I did not feel that was the case, as she speaks fine English. She was simply rude. On the last night, I said we could not find the dishwashing soap or dishwasher soap. Her response was, "we always leave dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets, and washing up liquid in all of our apartments. Please make sure to check the kitchen cupboards before saying that there aren't any." She also could have shown these to us when she handed over the keys. My stay and review here is completely affected by my interactions with her as I found them all to be very hostile and rude and for the price paid, I expect kind and professional customer service. The flat itself is nice, although there is a drummer outside the balcony who plays until about 11:30pm, sometimes later, most nights. Every day there is construction starting around 6:30am, including yelling, which lasts much of the day. The bed is on an unnecessary platform, so every time you get on or off in the middle of the night, there is a risk of falling, and two family members repeatedly jammed their feet on the extra step. The "headboard" is covered in turf, which is very unpleasant on the back of your head when sitting up in bed and trying to rest against it.
