Amazing stay

Liked:We loved our stay at Calvia Wave. The hitel is stunning and our room was amazing with a great view over the beach. The breakfast is exceptional and the hotel staff were fabulous with our 8 month old. The restaurant and beach club are great, and there is easy access to the beach, as well as a range of restaurants and bars and shops nearby. The solarium and pool were ideal for hot days. The hotel was very accommodating, when we asked for a kettle to make the babies food they sorted it for us, as well as organising transfers to and from the hotel and providing a very comfy travel cot for our little one. Our room was quiet for most of the holiday and very family friendly. Our bed was comfy and we slept well. I would really love to come back to this hotel at this time!

Disliked:We had a junior suite which had a small kitchen and fridge, which was great for our stay. However there was no cutlery or plates. These could have been useful on our trip. The area is very close to the strip and the BCM, during our stay it was mostly quiet with very little noise coming from the other rooms unless they were on the balcony. However, near the end of our stay, it felt like there were more party guests which were a bit louder and made having a baby who was trying to sleep a lot more difficult. Please note: I know this is Magaluf and it is a party town but its something to keep in mind the further into the season you go if you have a young family, but still it is a fabulous place to stay!

Disappointing and misleading stay, unexpected charges, poor hygiene, and chargeable facilities

Disliked:We were very disappointed with our stay. Although we clearly indicated through Booking.com that we were traveling with a dog, the hotel only informed us on arrival that there was an additional EUR 50 per night pet fee. This was not clearly communicated in advance. After the first night, we also found two cockroaches in our room and had to change rooms, which was unacceptable and made the stay feel uncomfortable. The property page also advertises beach bars and facilities, but in reality only the swimming pool was free. Everything else was chargeable because it was not actually under their service. This felt misleading and falsely advertised. The property also does not feel like a proper hotel. Each floor has approximately 50 rooms, but only a small number appear to be hotel-serviced, while the rest seem to be privately owned apartments. Overall, the experience was disappointing, poorly managed, and not as advertised.

Liked:Overall, we had a pleasant stay and there are definitely some positive aspects of this hotel. The location is excellent, and the beach nearby is beautiful and convenient.

Disliked:However, several issues significantly affected our experience. First, one of our AirPods went missing after the housekeeping staff cleaned our room. We reported the incident to the reception, but unfortunately received no meaningful assistance or compensation, which was very disappointing. Second, we were surprised to learn that the sun loungers by the pool cost €50 per day. In addition, the beachfront pool shown in the promotional materials does not belong to the hotel, and guests must pay an extra fee to use it. This information was not clearly stated in the booking offer. Another issue was cleanliness in the breakfast area. The tables were often sticky and did not appear to be properly cleaned. Finally, the soundproofing is extremely poor. We could clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms, and at night the noise of people walking through the corridors was very disturbing.
