I would never recommend this facility to a woman solo traveler! I also would like Booking to refund

Liked:The bathroom was fairly modern & water pressure acceptable.

Disliked:False advertising. I was a solo woman traveler & have never been as frightened in a motel room. My rooms only window was boarded up with metal sheet with only two inches of outside light shining in. When checking in was not told that outside door would be locked at a certain time & I would have to push a buzzer to be let in from the street so locked out first night & then a man suddenly appeared & unlocked door to sidewalk. Was frightening in a strange city. Hallway to office totally dark until motion sensor light came on. Hallway to my room totally dark until motion sensor light came on. Had to use my mobile phone light. Hallway motion sensor lights were not placed so that the hallway would be completely lighted. I checked out three days early forfeiting my payment for three more days because as a solo woman traveler I did not feel safe in a dark hallway at night.

Liked:Friendly attentive staff. Quiet and safe and great location. Not one thing to complain about. Air con a blessing . . Would definitely recommend . So clean too.

A great budget option for central Madrid.

Liked:This is the second time that I have stayed at the Hostal Centro Sol. The hostal is about as close to the centre of Madrid as you can get. As such, there are many places of interest that are a short walk away. The staff are wonderful.

Disliked:My room, which was facing the south, got quite warm. Fortunately, there was air conditioning. The Wi-Fi was a bit iffy.
