Disliked:The room size and no cupboard. And off course night shift staff Francisco, what more can I say? He needs some mannerism training. Simply rude and disrespectful, unhelpful. Politeness is out of his dictionary.

Perfect short stay

Liked:Hostal Art is in a great location, surrounded by plazas, bars and restaurants and so close to the city centre. We had a room with a balcony onto the main street but with the windows closed it was very quiet. The room was clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom/shower was great. The room was very comfortable and the air con worked very well, which was very welcome during the hot days of Madrid during summer. I was delayed arriving and the hostal was very responsive and helpful. When we arrived there was a problem with the electrics so we couldn't check in properly, but the receptionist worked hard to accommodate us and opened the room anyway. The maids cleaned and tidied our room everyday. For a small place that was not expensive, it totally exceeded our expectations and I'd highly recommend the hotel to travellers who want a comfortable base that is excellent value for money.
