Liked:Stunning place near Orpen Gate. Surrounded by nature with free-roaming animals. Kind and helpful staff, big and clean rooms, great food. The South African braai experience with traditional dancing was fantastic. Highly recommended!

Very isolated location, we saw elephant from the deck.

Liked:Beautiful location! Some really nice interior design similar to that of a luxury lodge! Viewing decks were great!

Disliked:The food was slightly hit and options for half board were very limited, sometimes service could be abit slow and often misunderstandings. The game drives offered by the hotel on the more expensive side, we paid €650 for a 1 day Kruger safari for family of 5 not including any food.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable experience – truly a hidden gem in South Africa

Liked:My stay at Sunbird Oasis Lodge was simply exceptional from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by a team of incredibly kind, smiling, and attentive people. Whether at reception, the restaurant, or anywhere around the lodge, every single staff member was approachable and genuinely willing to help at any time. The level of service here is something truly special. A very special mention goes to the owner, Tommy. What makes this place unique is how personally involved he is. He takes the time to greet every guest, have real conversations, and make sure everyone is enjoying their stay and not missing anything. I had the pleasure of meeting him, and he is an incredibly warm and genuine person who clearly puts his heart into this lodge. The location itself feels like a small paradise. Surrounded entirely by nature, with nothing but trees and wildlife in every direction, it offers a rare sense of peace and connection with the wild. From the lodge’s viewpoints, we were lucky enough to see elephants twice, and knowing that any animal can appear at any moment makes the experience even more magical. What impressed me even more is the incredible value for money. I was initially offered other lodges at around €990 per person per night. Instead, I chose Sunbird Oasis Lodge—three nights for around €360, plus two safaris for about €300 total including the return transfer to the airport. And honestly, the experience here was even better than some five-star luxury lodges. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the food is freshly prepared and delicious, and everything is done with care and attention to detail. The safaris were another highlight. On the first day, we had an amazing guide who shared deep knowledge about wildlife and nature—we saw around 14 animals.

Disliked:Nothing , i'm just adding the rest of my positive review here as i reached the maximum in the other category. The next day, I had the privilege of going on a safari with Tommy himself to a private reserve, where I was able to see the remaining animals of the Big Five. It was an unforgettable experience. One moment that truly stood out for me: I accidentally left my wallet in the room during a safari. When I returned, everything was exactly as I left it—around $4,000 in cash and all my cards untouched. This level of honesty and trust is priceless and very rare nowadays. It speaks volumes about the integrity of the people here. Sunbird Oasis Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it feels like a home away from home. The warmth of the people, the attention to small details, and the overall atmosphere make it an unforgettable experience. A big thank you to the entire team, and especially to Tommy, for going above and beyond to make my stay so memorable. I will definitely be coming back.
