Nice stay in Oyster Pond

Liked:Very nice and spacious apartment with a great view over the ocean. Well equipped kitchen. Two TVs where to watch our favorite Netflix series (in that area in the evening there´s not much to do). A big terrace and an additional balcony where you can relax (if there´s not much wind). The trees in front of it are populated by a family of iguanas and two lovely birds which came every morning to wish us a good day. A nice pool area. (which we actually never used as we spent most of the time on the beach). Angie is a very helpful host always ready to give you advices about excursions, restaurant etc... by the way nearby you can find a fabulous boulangerie, Bread & Butter, with delicious products and run by a very nice French couple. Also BZH restaurant definitely worth a visit (we went twice). Supermarket and gas station just around the corner. Before coming Angie provided us with a pdf guide where to find all relevant information. Same info we found on a printed book in the apartment. Safety box. Beach chairs and umbrella!!!

Disliked:Negative aspects which didn´t affect our stay and independent from the hosts: Oyster Pond is basically dead at night apart the above mentioned restaurants. At the same time, if you don´t mind driving at night, Grand Case one side and P´burg the other side are just 20mins away. Oyster Pond, like most of the North East coast, during our stay was affected by sargassum. The smell was pretty strong and disgusting, but never reached the Villa Magic area. But check before you book your stay or be ready to drive everyday to the other side of the island to find a beach. Negative aspects wich can be improved: Ants: despite not leaving any food around and throwing the garbage every day, we found several around the apartment. Not such a big deal at the end but might be annoying and maybe counter measures can be applied. A/C missing in the leaving room. It was pretty hot and the fan didn´t help much. A/C in the bed room over our heads. We had to keep it on as it was very hot but the air coming directly on our heads was pretty annoying. If you don´t like a/c well it will definitely be a problem. No door between the kitchen area and the bed area. If you cook, like we did, the small reaches the bed room. We communicated check out "around" 8 and at 7:55 Thomas came to collect the keys and when we said we were not ready yet he got upset. We are on holiday on a Caribbean island, maybe a little more flexibility would be nice.

Liked:The location was great!! It's wonderfully quiet, and the view from the porch is absolutely stunning. This space was perfect for my husband and me. We booked this accommodation to escape the hustle and bustle for a few days, and that's exactly what we did. Once we arrived at the apartment, we felt no need to venture out. We enjoyed the different sitting areas, especially with two porches to choose from, one of which features a cozy hammock. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to whip up our meals, and we really appreciated having a bakery just down the road. We indulged in fresh baguettes every day! Additionally, the nearby restaurant Oasis was absolutely delicious.

Disliked:It wasn't the worst experience, but we did have quite a few ants during our stay. We couldn't leave any food items on the counter, even for a short while. We just had to make sure to keep everything in the fridge, and that worked out fine. Another thing that caught us off guard was the pool, which is advertised as private. However, it’s actually a shared pool that’s used by both owners and guests. Based on the description, it could easily be misinterpreted as being directly attached to the apartment, but that’s not the case! Additionally, there are cameras around the pool, which makes it feel less private. Despite these drawbacks, we really enjoyed the pool, especially for early morning and late afternoon swims.
