Liked:An astonishing building with interesting grounds and view over the town and bay. Wonderful lavender lined path to the accommodation we used.

Disliked:Shower over a bath. Personally, I prefer a walk-in shower which I feel safer with at my age.

Staff were friendly enough but I would not recommend this hotel for the reasons already mentioned.

Liked:Location was good for enjoying Swanage.

Disliked:Overpriced. It badly needs updating and some investment on room facilities. The bathroom was poor with a mixer tap shower with little water pressure and the floor was grubby around the edges. No hot breakfast available. We booked in advance as we were attending an event and found ourselves in the smallest rooms in the hotel at much higher cost than were offered for the upgraded rooms on offer nearer to the time. We would have appreciated an upgrade with the tiny rooms given to us on offer for last minute guests. It seems we were penalised for booking in advance and for using booking.com.

Liked:The location was good, but there are many places in a good location

Disliked:Very tired and old. Very expensive, £200 a night excluding continental breakfast. They do live pricing. If you book through Booking.com they won't put you in a better room, even if there is one available at a much lower price than you paid.
