A Charming Stay at the Salt Vis‑à‑Vie

Liked:This is truly one of the most charming properties we stayed at during our trip. The apartment was super spacious, clean, fresh, and perfect for both rest and remote work — I especially loved the desk with its leather notebook cover. The interior design feels like “living with style,” the kind of space you’d want to recreate at home. The balcony offered a beautiful, historical view, and we really appreciated the attention to detail and the overall cleanliness. We’re already planning to come back.

Disliked:Didn’t like that we had to leave!

Amazing for a small family

Liked:The accommodation is very beautiful, super clean and its location is excellent. There is a turkish bakery/grocery store nearby, and the mobility card provided for the duration of the stay is fantastic; it allows for free travel by train and bus within the Salzburg region. The Salt Team are very friendly and helpfull. We had a great time and would gladly return anytime.

Disliked:The large pillows aren't very comfortable, and a freezer compartment in the fridge would have come in handy.

Loved Hallein. This location was pretty and renovated but lacked a view and is on a busy one way street, tricky to get

Liked:Balcony was nice, windows were beautiful, nice showers and perfect kitchen, updated, strikingly beautiful hallways and ceiling, felt very safe

Disliked:1) The view from the balcony was of an alley & preschool playground 2) overly hot for the first 45 minutes when you arrive because there’s a weird key that when you leave turns off all the AC. 3) spent ((not kidding)) 3 hours of the train ride there trying to work out a glitch (texting employee’s back and forth) where I had rented both rooms in my name via booking.com but per Austria’s super strict regulations they needed to rebook the rooms in two different names & to include each of my 5 family members’ names including all the minor children and their passports. I then paid extra even though when I filled out the new online form it showed grayed out how we had booked 3, won’t bore you with the details but essentially I ended up paying $200 extra euros to add two minor guests when it looked like on the original booking they’d been there all along. 4) there was a day when the ACs just could not cool the rooms down and the staff wasn’t responsive other than to say we needed to make sure the remote was on the cool setting. 5) washer/dryer is across the busy street at another location

Liked:The place is clean and nice, everything in good condition, no elevator though, and there was no shampoo/bodywash in the shower (which was not a big deal).

Disliked:Management communication was no good at all. We arrived late, a bit after 5pm. It was not clear where to park as we were in the town for the first time. We callled several times, and no one answered. Then we left a message at booking.com which was immediately answered with parking information (likely by a robot). The manager called back in 2 hours, said that parking information was sent before. My wife said that we could not find it. The manager asked to come to the office next day to show it, did not provide the office address though. The next day we knocked at every door that could be an office. Everything was locked, nobody answered. On the entrance door from inside there was a notice that garbage should be disposed in a special garbage room which one can find as the first room on the left. The only detail the notice was missing was that the garbage room was in the apartments block across the street. When we came it was cold outside, so we did not bother to use AC. On the last night it warmed up, so we tried to us it. It had a remote, but remote was completely ignored by the AC unit, even after we turned AC on with a button. Thus, AC was formally working, but was unusable. Also on the last day we tried to turn the TV on, the remote had no batteries.
