Disappointing.

Liked:There were two bicycles. It was close to bikini beach, which is a quieter beach compared to Santa Maria(pier). The balcony was spacious.

Disliked:Both bathrooms that were within the property had faulty equipment. One bathroom had a broken shower head, which was spotted quite early on the first day of arriving(message was sent to the host but there was no response in regard to this matter). The other bathrooms tub had a crack in it. The lift that was in the property was only in service 1 day out of the 11 day stay, which was annoying as we were on the top floor and had to keep carrying the bikes up and down the stairs. There were a lot of mosquitoes within the property. We noticed a mosquito repellent spray that was left for us but it turned out there was nothing in it. Lack of instructions. As I arranged for a driver, one picked us up from the airport which was handy, but I never realised that I wasn’t going to greet the host or meet her in person on arrival to the property. The driver asked if I knew the code to the door, which I didn’t because it was only sent to me whilst being on the flight( and I had no internet to read the message that was only sent by the host with the details 6 hours prior to arriving). The driver was great enough to contact the host and inform us on the codes to let us into the property and to find the key. After the driver took his €25, which ended us being CVE 27,00 for some reason( been in this same complex before and I only got charged CVE 2000 from the airport). From there, there was no communication from the host until she messaged me on the 5th day informing me that she’s been to the property to take payment but we weren’t in. There was no prior warning message to expect her arrival. As a response, I arranged a time the next day that would be suitable for her to visit to take payment(6th day). The host herself didn’t turn up but she sent a different person to take the payment, who was over 1h30 minutes over the scheduled time. I informed the host right away that we had to go and was trying to track how long they would take but she was not corresponding.

Liked:It was nice layout with lots of space. We wanted a quieter stay to relax for the last part of our trip. The pool area was nice. Loved having laundry in the unit. Beds very comfortable. Host was quick to communicate via booking.com with questions we had about the facility and bus to Santa Maria. However, did not tell us about the requirement of passes needed for bus and pool. Overall we did really enjoy our stay. There were a few minor things.

Disliked:The area has several condo complexes with their own pool / lounge area. It appears that it used to be a vibrant area with shops and restaurants. But it was more of a ghost town. The community coffee shop was closed. There was a restaurant but we only saw it open once. The grocery store is nice, went there daily. The pool area is nice. There is a small building in pool area that could have been a bar/restaurant at one time, but it was empty. The grounds were well maintained. There is a bus that takes you to Santa Maria. You need a bus pass. Which was supplied by the host. However, was not initially told about this by host. Found out from other tourists. The pass is also needed in pool area. The pass had expired in 2024. Security did stop us for this, but let us continue to use facilities. Host assured that they would be replaced with active ones. The shower head in master bath likes to move around in its holster…causing water to get on washroom floor. (There is only half shower wall)
