Disliked:Beautiful hotel, but a very unpleasant experience at the end – unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The hotel is beautiful, with a great location, a lovely bay, and everything is well maintained and clean. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Unfortunately, my stay ended with a very unpleasant experience. I had agreed with the staff in advance that I could stay at the beach after check-out while waiting for my ferry. However, while I was relaxing and reading, I was suddenly asked to return to my room and accused of staining the bed with red nail polish – even though I don’t wear red nail polish. I was even asked to have photos taken of my hands and feet while standing there in my bikini. Although I was asked for permission, I found the whole situation extremely uncomfortable, intrusive and inappropriate. On top of that, I was accused of planning to leave without paying my outstanding bill, which consisted of just a single drink. The explanation given was that other guests frequently leave without settling their bills. However, I had clearly communicated that I intended to have lunch and possibly another drink before paying for everything together. I find it completely unacceptable to be treated with suspicion simply because other guests may have behaved differently in the past. What makes this particularly disappointing is that these accusations apparently came from the owner, not the otherwise lovely staff. As a woman travelling alone, I found these unfounded accusations and the way the situation was handled disrespectful, intimidating and personally upsetting. Unfortunately, the owner’s behaviour left me with a very negative final impression of what had otherwise been a wonderful stay. For this reason, I cannot recommend this hotel to others.
